Restorative justice is a very Presbyterian ideal
By rooting ourselves in Christ’s call to love our neighbor and repair the breach, we bear witness to a God who does not discard anyone, who always seeks the lost, and who calls us to do the same.
‘I suffered so you should, too’ is not a Christian response to social programs
My suffering should not be a blueprint for others.
Theology 101: Theologians you should know for Presbyterians
These thinkers help us engage Scripture, tradition, and culture with wisdom and courage.
Anti-Catholic hate by Protestants spiked; it must stop
Too many Protestants still cling to a hostility toward Roman Catholicism that sounds more like 19th-century nativism than 21st-century Christian maturity.
Pope Leo XIV has a great deal of importance to Presbyterians
Our very identity as Presbyterians is entangled with the papacy, not in allegiance but in origin.
What would a Presbyterian want in a new pope?
Reformed Protestant denomination doesn’t recognize papal authority—but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t hope for certain qualities in a new pope that align with shared Christian values and global moral leadership.
Cleo Baker was stitched with many threads; some bright, frayed
Some threads came from messy life situations, others from unexpected friendships; some from service, others from struggle—deep struggle.

Northside Friends Meeting
Northside Friends Meeting is a congregation of the Religious Society of Friends, popularly known as the Quakers. An historically progressive group of denominations in Christianity, it has long been pacifist, advocated for the abolition of slavery in Great Britain and the United States. They are known to be intensely social justice-oriented.
Friends have two types of meetings: programmed worship and waiting worship. Their worship space is called a meeting house. The New Community House is this congregation’s meeting house.
Grace Baptist Church
A longtime space-sharer in The New Community House is a congregation of the American Baptist Churches USA—historically known as the Northern Baptist Convention (1907-1950) and Triennial Convention (1814-1907). This particular congregation is fully affirming of LGBTQ persons in the life of the Church.
Many of the Founding Fathers and Mothers of the United States were members of the original colonial Baptist churches in New England.
